Yuri Astrakhan (yurik) is a software developer living in New York, originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. He has been primarily working for the financial companies, while spending his free time developing MediaWiki API and various python bots. Numerous wiki pages in many languages were linked by yurikbot.

In the spirit of Web 2.0, this presentation will demo MediaWiki API designed specifically for the researchers and developers to provide direct access to the data in XML, JSON, YAML, and other formats, without having to go through the web pages. The API allows retrieval of page content, links, categories, contributor lists, and much more. Uploading data using API will also be discussed. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
