| Encyclopeida of Life (EoL), an international cooperation project, formally started from May 9, 2007. Mediawiki Foundation is one of the participants. The goal is to establish a global database for integrating 180 millions of species with reference to Wikepedia and for promoting global biodiversity researches, conservation, and sustainable usage. Now, in response to the international EoL Project, it is the time to initiate a Taiwan EoL. By using the common creating platform of wiki and further combining with the effort of the National Digital Archive Program and Taiwan Information Facility (TaiBIF), we hope to collect and integrate 80% of Taiwanese species information in the next 5 to 10 years, so we can share our information with international organizations, such as GBIF and EoL, and become one of the earliest countries to accomplish EoL. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
