Abstract
FLOSS Manuals (http://www.flossmanuals.net) is an open wiki for the collaborative development of free manuals about free software. Its aim is to remedy the lack of good documentation about free software.

Free software is a driving social, idealogical, and economic force. It has proven its case and prepared the ground for phenomenon such as Wikipedia and the current incredible increase of online collaborative networks. However the level of writing about using free software itself is extremely poor and many users do not use free operating systems or software because they simply cannot find an easy way in. We aim to remedy that by providing quality free documentation about free software.

FLOSS Manuals is a not-for-profit foundation, established in 2006 (although the platform existed since early 2005), and an open wiki. FLOSS Manuals is currently exploring a sustainable financial model based on print-on-demand services (we have our first book - http://www.flossmanuals.net/#audacity . All material is licensed under the GPL.
